Team FJJ Rules & Etiquette
Welcome to Team FJJ! To ensure a respectful and safe environment for everyone, please adhere to the following rules and etiquette.
Avoid arrogance and maintain respect for instructors and fellow students.
Leave your ego at the door.
Remember to "bow on, bow off" when entering and exiting the mat.
Be punctual for all classes.
Inform the instructor if you’ll be late.
Keep phones silent during class.
Supervise children at all times.
Avoid surprising takedowns on others.
Notify the instructor if you need to leave class early.
Shake hands with higher-ranked individuals as a sign of respect.
Maintain cleanliness and wear appropriate attire (no ripped gis, matching tops and bottoms).
Ensure personal hygiene (trimmed nails, hair tied back).
Respect the belt hierarchy.
Engage in safe sparring practices (no reckless moves, be gracious in victory/defeat).
Be aware of your surroundings.
Use mouthguards and cover any open wounds.
Use BJJ for personal growth and self-defense, not for aggression or intimidation.
Respect the art and the facility.
